The Agape Foundation of London was born out of a desire by members of the former Church at Westmount to serve the community of London, Ontario. When the Church officially dissolved in 1988, founding directors Gordon and Bernice Hill, and Ruth and Reg Hill, had already established a charitable foundation to which the Church’s assets could be transferred. 

That charitable foundation was the Agape Foundation of London, Agape being the Greek biblical term for unconditional love.

Our purpose remains the same today as it was in 1988, to assist in the development of the local community through grants and special awards to non-profits and charities working in the fields of education, the arts, recreation, social services and the environment.

Through sound financial management, the Foundation has, to date, distributed grants totalling more than $1.7 million to hundreds of local community organizations, benefitting thousands of Londoners, and far exceeding the original funding received from the Church at Westmount.
